COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Dear CCU Customers

This message is to update you on our plans and readiness related to the evolving challenges presented by the COVID-19, or coronavirus, situation.

Please know that maintaining the reliability, quality and value of the services we provide you, as well as the health and well-being of our employees, customers, vendors, and the community at large, is our highest priority during this unusual time.

Our senior staff and safety committee have met and developed protocols similar to our normal emergency action plan, but with adding additional unique steps based upon the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.

It is with this in mind, CCU will continue operations at the current time, given the critical nature of our services to the community. We will, however, use extra precautions related to public contact. Going forward, we also have predetermined milestones, which may trigger future actions regarding our operations.

At the current time, our office will remain open for cases where is the necessary like opening or closing an account, but we encourage customers to utilize our drive-up payment window, payment drop box in our second drive up lane, and on-line payment system to pay bills to minimize contact. Of course, we are available via phone for routine questions.

Our CCU electric, water and wastewater field crews will focus primarily on trouble calls, with routine maintenance projects being scaled back. The fiber contractor crews will continue to build our distribution network, and we will still do the surveys for Customers on PON 1 and future PONS as they are available, but we will only conduct the outside portion of the survey for the home installs for now.

As noted previously, we do have plans in place. If this event continues to escalate, we will communicate any additional steps we take. Rest assured CCU staff will do everything possible to keep the lights on, water flowing, and fiber network functioning.
